Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

 Q. What can I expect from working with you?

You can expect exactly the same thing I would expect: a professional with the right combination of passion, experience, expertise, and attention to detail. Someone who will bring the same care and caring to your project as I would to my own. Someone who stands behind his work, and wants you to be 100% satisfied.

Q. Do you do all the work yourself, or do you outsource projects?

I do all the work myself.

Q. I have a tight deadline to meet. Can you start on my project right away?

That is something we would have to discuss. Depending on my current projects, that might be possible. I am serious about meeting deadlines, and the only thing that would prevent me from doing that would be if it would jeopardize any projects I have on the go. I don't make promises I can't keep, and I don't take on work I can't deliver.

Q. Why don't you post your rates on your website?

My best answer is in the form of an analogy: asking me what my rates are is kind of like walking into a grocery store and asking how much groceries cost. The answer is: it depends on what you need. Some clients need website usability evaluations; some need web pages written; some need social media updates on a regular basis. Basically, almost all of the work I do is custom work. If you have a project you think I could help with, I'd be happy to discuss my rates with you. Please know that you are never under any pressure or obligation, and I respect your privacy and information absolutely.

Q. What do your fees include?

My fees include all of the work that we negotiate in advance, and also include revisions as required as long as the scope of the project remains the same. I want you to be thrilled with my work—my business demands it!

Q. How do I go about hiring you? Do I have to sign a contract? Do you ask for money up front?

Initial contact is best done by email. Once we agree to work on a project, I'm happy to use whatever is easiest: phone, email, Skype, etc. I don't require a contract. However, we do need to document all of the work required, and agree to all the terms. Once all that is in place, I require a deposit of 50% in advance of my starting the project.

Q. We're in two different cities. Can we still work together?

Absolutely! That's the beauty of online work; it can be done from anywhere.

Q. What if I have any other questions?

You can reach me using the contact form here.

Please remember that I'm happy to answer any questions you might have, and you are never under any obligation or any pressure when we chat. Also, I take privacy very seriously, and will guard your email address as I guard my own.

Best Regards,

Jim.
